I've been getting accustomed to the GGA's and it's a great match seeing the ATPro is amphibious. I've been hunting often in sloppy mud, sand, saturated wet red gravel the ATP is well suited. Over the calf rubber boots and a shovel enabled me to reach where I got the ring signal. Mudflats, almost sucking my boots off :help:

Here's one for mudpuppy, another old religious medal. The area was littered with old glass, some of which turned purple due to the magnesium in them. I should of taken a pick of the chunk of round bottomed soda bottle.
HH!

Love the finds. I know very little about water detecting and have a moderate interest in it. I learn from you guys when you do posts like this, thanks.

Man...your still working that spot I see! Great job on the AU and AG! You've pulled some nice stuff out of that mud, Bruce! Always good to see your finding more!:beers:

The ATP is a capeable freshwater detector. Besides sorting the gear that works best for you and technique for retrieval the one tip I can offer is this.... Get to know the lakes and ponds in your area that are lowered seasonally. Some if lowered enough will enable you to chase targets in many areas without waders or a wet suit. I often suit up but I have one honey hole that doesn't require it - this one. Also be sure your not violating any ordinances or property rights.

I was told you also found a returned a lost glove. Wish I was there to play in the mud. I understand it is really tough working and lots of trash. But then, the ATPro loves that type of detecting.
All lakes up here are full. Ocean has bee quiet. Hope to see you this summer. Call anytime you get out this way.
Love the old gold...Remember Elizabeth Park's mud mound when they drained the skating pond? Did you ever find out where they took all the muck? Just one more thing to watch in the neighborhood.

Good to hear from you! Lucky I found his glove, I had an idea where he might have dropped it. Broken glass is real hazard there and I've seen a few cut up hands (not mine). The amount of trash and the generally unappetizing conditions, smell, muck and physical obstacles weeded out the casual from the hard core detectorists. I've taken a couple people there and it definitely was interesting watching how they dealt with the conditions. The ATP with 5x8" coil was made this kind of mess, the iron disc & audio really help there.
I sure remember Elizabeth Park, I stayed there on my way home 'till dark as often as I could until we couldn't hunt it anymore. No idea where the muck went. The finds and quantity were the stuff we dream about getting a shot at recovering. The house in Dennis Port will be opened this weekend and we are looking forward to good times there. I will be sure to get in touch with you. For seafood we like Marathon in W.Dennis (sweetest clams) and for general dining the early dinners at Riverway are great. Got my broad band spectrum water machine souped up with GGA's, 12x10" SEF and remote PP.
Be well & HH!
Bruce

Glad to see that you got your just reward for dealing with the muck! That ring is a beauty!
