found this in a park yesterday it was about 7 inches down. I almost threw it away till I seen 18 k inside has heavy corrosion all over it. Took it to a jewler to have it cleaned up will post pictures when its done .Looks like its 100+ years old .

This is not a real 18K ring as gold will not pit or corrode like this one is. I think as soon as the jeweler see it he will tell you the same. What you have I beleive is one of those rings sold by traveling salesman to some of the people that couldnt afford the real one. When new they looked like the real thing as they were polished up nice, but when wore your finger would turn green. I have got several of them and was told this by a older guy when I showed him the ones I have and all are marked 18K. I believe they date to the 1930s.

Gold is a funny animal. I have found them and swear that it was fake. Even if it's marked 14-18K.You"ll never know till it goes on the rouge wheel. Proof in point is this gem I found last year. Take a good look at the pictures. Even the jeweler asked me why I wanted to clean it up? After he put it on the rouge wheel, all I heard from him was oh, oh, oh my.

Reminds me of an old bubble back rolex my friend once bought in a flea market. The thing was jet black. cleaned up real nice.

I have to agree with Nick, the corrosion on this ring is not normal. It's normal with low-karat rings (8-10K) to become black after laying in the ground for a long time. I hope you and the jeweler prove us wrong!!
