Went diving with SD Monday and wasn't getting very much until towards the end off the day when I uncovered a gold chain and cross. We thought it might be 10k gold because it was dark looking.I took it into have it tested and it turns out the chain is 18k (15.52g) and the cross was 14k (2.01g), they said it appears to be very old because of the crude construction and it also bounced between 18k and 22k but the acid test narrowed it to 18k. Also found a small silver chain, a broken silver ring and a trashed watch that turned out to be interesting, on the back it has the name Robert Brinkworth Port Huron Wings 1971-72; he turned out to be an important figure in the hockey world. Also the watch was found in a Lake far from Port Huron. Found several other junk items. The gold coin turned out to be a Condom package, what a disappointment (ha, ha), maybe i will give it to SD for getting me into water hunting. HAPPY HUNTING!!!!

I met this guy and he was a land hunter. Showed him some of my finds and got him into diving with a detector. I created a gold moster! Something is wrong with this picture.

I think most would agree Kevin, I should get half the value of your finds for at least a summer because you learned from the best.

LOL and that does NOT mean the condom wrapper!

Great chain. The Sting Ray is doing GREAT for you. Excal"s, CZ-21's and BHID's have been all over that place we detected. Nobody else found it. Congrats

Kevin awesome finds, And this rocks that the Stingray was the tool that found it. Man I like how sensitive the Stingray is to chains. While learning mine in all metal i have found small sections of dog tag style necklaces that were only three beads long. So the chain and cross must have sounded off nicely.

What kind of depth would you guess for that target Kevin?

And yes Scuba, your finds have helped to lean me towards purchasing a hookah system for the area I know have goods in the deep ;)

Congrats again,

Lakota

Wow...your really doing well..Nice cross&chain...SD taught you well,grasshopper....Looks like there might be a changing of the guard,The new replaces the old,out with the old in with the new,the student becomes the teacher,...and you don't lose your finds...Just Kidding SD...U got A few Years Left...HH

Bah couldn't edit. Kevin had a PS thought. Which coil are you using on your stingray the 8"- 10"?

Also are you running her in all metall or disc?

NICE FINDS!!!!!!! I guess I should learn how to SD.

Found it in about 5 to 6 inches under the sand and half of it was in the clay. It has a 8 inch coil and I use discrimination mode set at about 2 and a half. That for the reply, happy hunting.

I think thats the original Fr. Pere Marquettes chain...you better give it back! Nice work there Kc!

Ok so we are running the same rig in the same settings. Though I dont have numbers for my Disc ( iron, foil etc.) . Also have clay bottoms here too. Its nice in the sanded swimming areas as a stop barrier for the goods, but in the open lake swimming spots it .... well makes it interesting

Going out tonight, maybe I can bump into some goods too, we'll see.

Good luck with it guys,

Lakota
