Old Gas Company Sign..........

Kelley (Texas)

New member
Spotted this old gas company sign hanging on the outside wall of an antique shop. I noticed that the clear outer coat on the sign was peeling off in a few spots. Reflecting back, by the shape of the building, it might have originally been a gas station, and I regret not asking the old lady working behind the counter. Kelley (Texas) :)

Kelley, Very interesting sign. Never heard of that brand of Fuel. I believe that sign is porcelain, which does not peel. It does however chip. That flaking or discoloration appears to be where some one touched it up. It is difficult to match the colors at times. Most likely someone through rocks at it or maybe shot at it, chipping the porcelain.
I would bet, that sign is worth a couple of hundred dollars, depending upon what part of the Country it would be in.
