Got a chance to get out yesterday for a couple of hours and while driving to one of my good old producing school yard sites I discovered that an old farm was no longer there. The property was sold and lots of dirt was being moved around. One of the fellows operating a big back hoe gave me the ok to detect and I couldn't get my detector turned on fast enough......... Started out with a 42 merc and then two 43 mercs. My next signal about blew my ears off and out comes my first 1923 peace dollar. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that big hunk of silver staring back at me. I kept going and ended up with a 1907 injun in really nice shape, a 36 buffalo with a readable date and four wheat's, 37, 44, 45 and a 56. I didn't want to leave, but I had my two granddaughter's birthday party to go to. Went back out there this morning and the whole place was fenced in and I was locked out. Nobody around so I went back home with my tail between my legs. I'm hoping to get back out there again before they haul away all that dirt. Who knows what else might be hiding in that old dirt........... HH.
