Hi Ron---Welcome aboard, I'm new on this forum myself. I had a similar situation on an EX II that I had a few years ago. I had it laying on the floor in our motorhome with the sliding window above it open, because it was a hot day. We went on a hunt with our other detectors a few miles away and while we was gone a real bad rainstorm with a lot of wind in it moved in. By the time we got back to the motorhome, the wind had blown mucho water in thru the window and soaked the detector laying on the floor. I never could get it to fire up after that. I took the battery out and did the hair dryer thing like you did, etc. I tried everything I could think of. I got it all dried out and sent it into Minelab. If I remember right, when I got it back they said they had replaced a switch that was shot. It worked fine after that and I found a lot of neat stuff with that Explorer-hope this info somehow helps. Again, welcome to the forum, Del
