arethe older excalibur worh puchaseing??? saw som for sale on ebay at alot less than a newone are battery packs available???? any inputs will be appreciated Bob Clark
 
I would stronly caution you about purchasing a used water unit, because you really don't know how it's been taken care of or what is wrong with it. You would be better off purchasing new, with a warrnaty, that way if it breaks, you can get it repaired for return shipping, instead of big bucks later! If you decide water hunting is not for you, then you may lose a couple hundred, who cares, you will have found that much in loot! They all break, I am living proof of that! Have broken every brand of water detector I have ever owned. Violent things happen in the water! Good luck in your decision. OBTW, I have used my Minelab warranty 2 times so far since Jan. '06 and it did cost me any out of pocket, except for returned shipping and the service was TOP NOTCH! Repairs were done right the 1st time!
