I found this in the water, deep in the black mud...its as big as a Q and has ridges around the edge of it like a Q has... the backside is toasted, and this side is not too good either...this is an old body of water and had French fur trade heavy back in the day... Ive not seen such a fried coin around here, so Its been there a while I think...any ideas?

Naw...its got knurled edges like a Quarter...sorry for such a crappy pic...I think it has to be old, none of the rest of the copper I've found in this spot was so worn or pitted to this extent..there are two holes drilled in it...at @ 4 oclock and 10...just one of those things I puzzled about...thanks for your reply DoD, no troubles, on with the hunt!

The 2 holes are to make a whizzer(childes noise maker the coin must be of low value at the time)--- perhaps 1 franc(wild guess)
