Old Coins....

When you all are digging these old coins, at what depth are you getting them at and are you using the stock coil. I usally hunt with the 5" coil should I put my stock coil back on?

I would venture to say that on the average, most coins are found at a depth of 6" or 7" or less, well within the range of most small coils.
The smaller coil will give you better target/trash separation.

On my Whites 6000 XL Pro, I use a Blue Max 600 coil (6" coil) at trash laden sites, and when possible I will use the Blue Max 800 coil (8" coil) on sites with less trash. Please note that the I.D. will read on the low side when compared to the original 9.5 coil that comes with the XL Pro and your depth meter will not be accurate. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)

for search coils is one of the 6

Blue Max 600 coil. It will still read within the band width of the specific coin, but on the low side. I have seen this on many of the XL Pro's. Down here in our mild soil conditions I can get approximately 1 1/2" more depth with the Blue Max 800 coil. Kelley (Texas) :)

Most coins are 5 inch or less.
I found my deeeepest coin at 13 inch and that was a some digggggging.
IT WAS THE XL PRO THAT GOT THAT 1921S DOLLER.
But my Prizm got a 1878 doller at 7 inch.
It is all gooood to swing low and dig deeep.
