Old Coins & Relics [NEW COINMASTER]

Hi everyone. You may have seen that I was having problems with my detector a few weeks ago. Everything is under control now. Thanks.

I found a lot of nice old coins and relics in July. I was surprised to find my oldest wheat penny in my yard, from 1916. I was also surprised to find a musket ball in my backyard. I also went to the old inn and detected the dirt pile where I found an old button, wheat penny, and gold ring in the past. This time I found a musket ball and an Indian Head Penny from 1880. The Indian Head is in beautiful condition except for a small part of it on the front of it. I also found my first ever arrowhead. The arrowhead is broken, but its still a cool find. I made some good finds this month. Thanks for watching everyone. HH.

Thanks for the video! I'm glad you got your Coinmaster working again. Those dirt piles are great hunting. I've had very luck hunting those. If the property owner doesn't mind...try turning some of it over gently without increasing the outer edges. If not, then try hunting it again after a good rain. Sometimes that will uncover some goodies without having to dig or sift around.
As you have found out...indian head pennies come in at 'zinc' pennies. You are wise not to use not much discrimination at old sites. Keep up the good work with the finds and videos!

Your really finding some interesting things with the Coinmaster...Glad your at 100% operation again...

[size=large] There will be a learning curve to the MXT but it will detect deeper and has a great relic/coin program.

Recovering Relics

It looks like to me that you are doing fine with the new Coinmaster, more expensive equipment like the MXT will not magically make targets appear. I believe that good locations through research will bring top finds into your pouch. Keeping discrimination low......learning your detector and digging a lot will get you more finds than blowing away your money on a high dollar detector :detecting:

Hey Blind Dr, tell your son to go hunt where the local HS kids go to "get lucky". Between myself and two friends we found over $45.00 in coin, two small gold necklaces and various other odds and ends in two hunts over two days, that was back in about 1992, we filled our gas tank and bought beer too, thanks to a bunch of high school kids! ha haaa
More importantly I found a perfect condition Swiss army knife that I still carry with me. Mike
