I also collect coin,s for years now since iam layed up and cant detect for a little while cause my back i figured i show a coin i received from the Ukraine Russia , my wife is Ukrainian and she has relatives there and they send me there old coins which i love !!! .This time it is a 1776 Catherine The Great 5 Kopek,s copper coin it is huge 144mm in diameter and 46 grams heavy i put it up against a 1813 Liberty Bust half dollar for size comparison , i found that Bust half dollar at a 1742 Church yard 2 years ago while detecting 8 inches deep of course it was my Sov GT that found it wow did the big silver sound off in my HP,s . The Kopek,s was a gift coin from Catherine to America celebrating the Constitution thousand where sent here by ship and they are still here a lot i bet lost in the ground if you run your coil over that monster you will hear it .

That bust is one nice find! I've only got one bust coin so far and it was a dime. Very rare to find a half like that because that was big money back then. Somebody was p*ssed when they lost that!

I've found two Kopek coins thus far detecting. Both in the same hole. One was a Kopec about the size of a large cent and I guess that's a penny too maybe? The other was about the size of a nickle or penny maybe. Forget as I haven't looked at them in a while. Neither looks like your coins. From memory these were from the late 1800's or early 1900's. Was real surprised to find those at an old park. Why in the world were they being carried around by somebody?

Sometimes it is amazing what you can find in parks or anywhere people bring there change with them from the old countrys and lose it here .. I only seen one 5 Kopek like i had sent to me dug a few years ago i think it was 1760,s by a guy in another forum . Yep .50 cents back in the early 1800,s could get you a tall beer and a good steak in a Colonial Pub ,i took a pic of the reverse that Heretic Eagle is the best :detecting: Jim
