old carnival ground

There`s an old carnival ground that I have hunted for years and found more silver there than any one place I`ve ever hunted. I haven`t found any silver there in a long time. I purchased a 705 and a digger coil and did pull out four Wheaties and one nickel in a couple a trips. I have recently got an e-trac and want to go back to the field and hunt but have been trying to learn it a while before I go there because I don`t want to take it out and not find anything. I`ve been using just the factory coin mode and finding coins and jewelry, but nothing deep yet. Any suggestions on what to do with my limited knowledge of the e-trac. I`ve looked at the two tone ferrous set up and wondered if that`s what I should try. Thanks!

When did they stop using the carnival ground?? If you have non-ferrous trash in the mix, 2 tone will drive you batty, unless you're willing to keep one eye glued to the screen. If it was say "pre-1940's", then you could sure use TTF. Otherwise, I'd just hunt with the E-Trac and concentrate on good 2-way signals.

I think somewhere in the 50`s were the last years they used it. found a few barber coins all the way up but no clad coins. I recon I`ll just wait for some rain to soften up the ground and give it a go. Thanks!

You won't be disappointed in your silver count with the ETrac. Mine went up dramatically when I went from the XTerra 70 to an ETrac.

I would look at Andy's con program since the factory coin program will miss some US coins.

Good luck and please keep us posted with your finds!

will do and thanks
