Hi all. I noticed in one of Chuck's posts he had what looked like a nice old button. Looks like he has a few nice old buttons.

Any help identifying them is appreciated.

Chuck,
If you can get a little clearer pictures, it may help. And you may want to post over on the Watzit forum or on the relics forum and see if anyone there can help narrow down period and provide better details on what you have here.

Nice find on these buttons!
Keep up the great hunting!

I have a long way to go with cameras yet, going to try a scanner mine is acting up.Wouldn't that be something if the one button was struck by shot, and knocked off coat!,talk about cold case files! anyway, all i can come up with is early french militia, settlers,so they would have to be pretty old?.Notice the 21 gold button, the ridges on edge, looks so much like a dime.Wonder if i have the shot that hit that button?hope to get some input, special thanks tvr.Chuck.:tesoro:

I found a very similar button with the same etchings on the back with my Tejon last year in Happy Retreat (Charles Washinton Home) in WV. They are flat buttons possibly from the 1800 Massachusetts Militia imported from Europe. Nice Finds!

:tesoro:Yeah thanks for' all the intrest, you see that gold button,it was found in 1989 at 12" deep with tesoro back then.Gold 21 button is one of a kind,Charleston museum cleaned with electrolysis method, dated 1720's dipped in gold 3 times wow!!,if my tesoro could do that in 89 can't wait to get my new Vaquero going good!.pay attention you rookies!.Chucky.

i found a very similar looking button by my house in a field. I said Orange Gilt colour. on the back. from the info i researched, it was from 1800's, it was popular to say what color the button was or something like that on the back.

front reads: apresent charles

back reads: treble orange

I have no idea what this button is about...but will continue to research it
