Old buckle ID

I found this in some old woods behind my buddies house with my Deus.
Can anyone tell me the type and age of it.
 
It's a suspender buckle or clip. The hook/loop is a tale-tale sign and after you've adjusted the suspenders like you wanted you could easily unhook both sides to take care of your business without having to readjust the suspenders afterwards. The old jeans had large loops on each side that the suspender buckles attached to and typically one loop in the back. I'm not certain about the time period yours is likely from but some of the patent dates are around 1860's to 1890's. Here is a patent of one similar to yours but with a different style buckle....
