You stated you hunted an old field. Have you ever detected a young field? :)

Love that buckle! Do you have a better close up of it?
Lol funny I’m on Ct coastline so all the fields near me are all old,
Yes I can take a closeup

Mkus,

You are correct, here in CT, everything is old with lots of history.
Have you ever researched the old field with maps? Wonder what use to be there?

I know of some of the history it’s at the mouth of the Ct river lots of Indians used them then early settlers one of the property owners is head of the towns historical society she’s very nice and her husband used to be my dentist years ago ..
I have permission to hunt there but have to mark where all the finds come from..
There was a fort across the river in saybrook and the British burned all the ships in Essex just up river in which they battled their way back down river being fired upon by locals all the way back to the mouth of the river so there is a ton of history all along the river which I really love to hunt

Better closeup of buckle

Found one of my nicest Indian a few months ago considering how long Indians were made they are tough to find especially in great shape this one looks to be lost just about after circulation

You have a ton of good places to hunt in that area. I wish you the best in the field - Jim
