Old Blowout:hot:

Its hard to find an old blowout on the eastern shores of Lake Mich, well I got into one this am! Stayed in there over two hours and got 63 coins for 5.46 amonst them a 42 washington Q, and a 35 wheat, and this 6.7gr 925 ring from Israel. AT Pro set Custom Zero with Iron on..
I'm very happy with the Pro for areas like this, I was pulling up rusted nails along with the coins. I figured there HAD to be gold in here with all the coins and the lead weights and old stuff...I had to drive home with the truck heater going full blast as i was really going hypothermic...I'm going back! The winds been hard out of the west all week, and last night at midnight it switched to the east, which means the Big Lake is flat, and its time to be in it before the water temp drops to the point of pain by tomorrow am.

I went back for a few more hours...got another 2.75 in clad and two more wheaties one is a 1913, the other has sand plastered to it and I cant get the date.. Lots of keys and lures and weights, only two pulltabs and a few rotten old screwoffs all rusted up to be danged, so it was an old blow out for sure. Running with iron audio on, chest deep in Lake Michigan. I found a kids class ring yesterday and he just called to come and get it. That's the 4th I'll have returned in my short but fun career as an addict.

Good hunting Mud! Does the big lake ever warm enough to be comfortable? Nice to hit a good target rich spot like that once in a while. HH jim tn

Great hunting. Mud! Very kind of you to return the class rings, I'm sure the owners were thrilled. It's been 25 years since I lived up there, but I still recall the trips to the dunes and that chilly polar bear pond of a lake!!

OK...A blowout would be a section of beach that once was there, or a sandbar that moved from the wind and waves...sometimes its big and sometimes its small about the size of a garage...just sand shifting is all...but sometimes it shifts right down good and deep and only lasts for a day or two before it changes again from a big west wind. It helps if you hunt areas a lot, you get to know where the sandbars were yesterday, and when things move around. Things get uncovered and covered right back up pretty fast. Thanks for all your kind replys!

Looks like you had alot of fun!! Second to last time I went in the big lake I think I come out alittle hypo too. Fingernails and toenails were purple and took me about 2 hours to stop shivering. Started working the inlands now, they are still nice and warm.
