Old Barn Is No More............

Kelley (Texas)

New member
As some of you know, up until last year when I broke my neck in a freak accident, I traveled the back roads of South Texas, taking pictures of old sites of yesterday Texas. This old barn was located on a ranch that had just been sold to a developer. Last night I received word from my cousin who lives near Bandera, Texas that the old barn has been torn down, it is no more. I need to speed up my rehab and get back to again taking pictures on the back roads of South Texas recording a way of life that is fast disappearing. Kelley (Texas) :)

really appreciate seeing folks take pictures of them before they disappear. I also like doing that. Thanks for sharing it with us!

It's a shame that old places have to be torn down, but I guess that's progress. It would have eventually fallen in anyway, but it's good you got some photos while you could.

I can't help myself daydreaming about the activity the old barn once had. Cattle, horses, no telling what was raised there. It's a beautiful old barn. Thanks for the wonderful photos you post. They sure make me smile.

the folks that lived in the old houses and used the barns near the homes. What was their lives like, where are they now? Sad, but these old sites are disappearing at a fast pace. Thanks for viewing the picture. Kelley (Texas) :)

This whole world is getting to be a fast paced journey with little relaxation. Thanks for the wonderful picture and the ability to do a little daydreaming with such a beautiful old piece of history.
