I was doing some playing around with my MXT in the back yard and got a deep signal that read non-ferrous so I decided to dig it. As I dug I took another swing with the coil and the reading turned to a Iron reading. I decided to continue digging and at 12 inches I popped out a chunk of iron. It was badly corroded so I cleaned off come of the oxide covering and some dirt and discovered I had a very old buckle in my hands. I don't know if it is for human use or part of a horse strap. What do you think?

Can't make out the approximate size in relation to a known object.(coin example)
If it's bigger than any human size buckle it could be horse strap buckle

Pretty darn cool. How big is it?
Thanks and HH, Nancy

My guess it would be a buckle for a horse bridle, or posibly the saddle. That's still a neat find! Thanks and HH, Nancy
