I am guity of only playing around with it a few times,Just as I normally run on fast stead of deep. Here's the question,Wouldn't runnin ferrous keep me from hearing as high hits the numerous high pitched sounds that plot top and edge of my ironmask screen.I run into few crowncap block targets, the copper and ring /pulltab zone wouldnt change much.Just seems as tho it would be better.Heck gonna rain my days off..your take charlie

The problem I have with ferrous mode, is that some of the targets in iron read far left of where they would normally fall, I would assume that means they would read as a lower tone. I havet checked to see if thats true however.. aother thig that bothers me in ferrous is the tin and juk that norally reads witha low tone reads higher and I ed up checkig trash things out too much.. hell you will get silver sounds on steel bottle caps in the ferrous mode.. anything that reads far right will be your highest tones..things that hit on the left will be lowest.. so nickles that usually would give you a lower tone would sound like tabs and screw caps.. I prefer coductivity and deal with the occasional high tones off iron... iron has a pretty distinct tone quality thats easy for me to tell... but I really hate getting high tones from bottle caps
