Jim, I haven't removed any precious stones from my ring finds yet, but I'll need to do that soon......I have the same question.

I'll check around and see if I can find an answer for you.

don't take 'em to a jeweler unless ya know the guy personaly. most of 'em belong in the same boat as politicians and lawyers.

Jim, you'll be hard pressed to get anything for them unless they're over a carat.Diamonds are overpriced on a retail level and wholesale is nothing. You might want to try and find a local jewelry maker but don't expect much. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I just keep mine in a tube and when my wife decides she wants them made into something that's where they will go.

Stones, basically are worthless unless they are of really fine quality and over 1 carat. You can try and sell them to a jeweler that you might know, but don't expect much money.

Jim ,

It was suggested to me to suggest to you to contact member (s) of a Gem and Mineral Club if possible ...they may be able to advise you also.

Good luck...
Lorraine

Sell ANY ring with a stone on eBay. You will get more money for it that if you scrap it.
