OK ~ This is why it's not a real bright idea to shoot your weapon into the air like they do in the middle east...

Yes, the lead bullets do come down somewhere.....one time here in the St. Louis County area a family was gathered with others and having fun in a park! Their little girl was hit in her body by a stray bullet coming out of no where but wasn't hurt too badly as it was spent of forcefulness by the time it reached her! But the danger is always emminent when people shoot guns carelessly in a public area! Don't remember if the person who shot the gun was ever found or not, as it has been quite a few years since it happened! Ma Betty

come back down on the crowd doin the shootin.
I did a lot of reading on this subject years ago and studies have been done.
It is impossible for a bullet to come back down and land within a mile or so of the shooter.
The bullet immediately leaves it's tragectory once it clears the muzzel.
And by the time it again crosses it's own tragectory,( point blank range), it becomes subject to the atmosphere and the earths rotation.
There are many other factors involved that prevent that bullet from straight flight
Unless of course there happens to be a squib and it doesn't achieve it's full flight.
Or, the earth stops spinnin.

They never heard the shot. He just fell over dead as they walked. Like Vern says "Once it goes down range you can't call it back"
