OK So how many of you guys have a CZ20 and a Excal or have had both and which one do you or did you like best.

I have dug some real choice stuff with my CZ20 over all these years, so the Excal has to go a long way to keep up with my 20. I am reserved and not really expecting that much out of the Excal. I had a Sov 2Apro and never did like it. I was really torn between getting the new Sov. GT but decided to get another wet water machine. Anyway your inputs would be appreciated. :bouncy: :clapping: Thanks in advance Jerry aka Tinfoil.

I finally took the plunge and tgot the excal.
It took a little learning, and it drove me nuts with the loose knobs, and crummy earphones.
BUT, the EXCAL is my numero UNO machine.
The sound is so much bigger, instead of a little chirp over a target, the Excal says 'HEY, THERES SOMETING DOWN HERE!! HEY!!!!!
I use the CZ occasionally yet, it still does a great job, but its in love with iron, and only has three tones, compared to the Excals many varied tones.
I had to go to radio shack to get some knobs for mine (three years ago), but all i needed after that was better ear phones. I got some waterproof grey ghosts, no problem.
Do i recommend you get an Excal?? Not if you're gonna hunt where I do!!
Go get one, you'll love it.

They really turned out real nice. Maybe he will get on here and post a picture of them. I am going to send him something that he don't have that is really going to make him smile. He don't have any of them and they will look real nice in his Case. Now all I got to do is find the Damn thing. Hey it is probley with the 2 long blue boxes of walking liberty halves I have found over the years I can't find either.  This C.R.S. gets to me sometimes. :nopity: Hey keep posting the good stuff. Love seeing the GOLD. Later and thanks Jerry aka Tinfoil.

The Excal is going to surprise you. The CZ 20 will wind up being your back up machine just like mine is. The Excal is more stable and gets a little better depth than my CZ 20 does.

Now get wet and go use it, the shaft will be mailed tomorrow. Heck use the factory setup until it gets there :)

See ya Bud,

As I have got to go do some things that have to be done. Soon as I get stuff done then I am taking me a 2 month water detecting vacation. Hell, no telling where I am going to stir up the heat at. I know we are going to stir it up down around your area plus a little relic hunting also. I am really up for that. Now I am going to do what I want to do for a change. :detecting: :clapping:  :bouncy: later bud, Jerry aka Tinfoil

 My excal goes crazy and is often just so unstable that i seldom use it. It is true that when stable the excal has a better tone identification but for me that is of no concern as i dig every sound. I hunt the same beaches day after day so can not tolerate passing any signal that will just return to haunt me another day. So often after removing a known junk target I find a hidden piece of gold that I believe the only way to get gold is to dig all targets. I often know I am digging steel but it has to go from my beaches. I will give the excal credit for being better at finding slightly smaller gold or filigree gold. These generally have so little weight as to be near valueless as far as gold content. At one time the Excal was my first choice but that was before I learned how to use the CZ's.

For depth my CZ 20 with 8 inch coil, will get down farther than the Excal 1000. I have returned my Excal several times and even had the card changed but it never improved up to advertised standards. Even my White's Surfmaster PI gets deeper. Just my own experience. Both are good machines.

how to read it also. As for Iron signal if it is a small sounding target and it pinpoints in one spot or don't move around it gets dug. I had mine juiced up at the factory and super tuned amny years ago and with thae 10" coil on well you know what I mean. Later and thanks for the reply. Just between you and me I don't think the Excal will get the depth my CZ20 will but I wanted a new water detector and will give it a real work out. :detecting: Later, Jerry Aka Tinfoil
