I am wondering if anyone has ever made just a gold jewlery program,can it be done.I was thinking if I took my necklaces ring mens and womens and programed it to except them reject coins etc.will I still get pull tabs,I am hunting a very trashy park and only want to find jewlery.Let me know if this is a good idea or a waste of time and can't be done because of the pull tab factor.I found one gold ring at the volley ball court and was told then area of where one was lost but foil and tabs everywhere.

There is a good program in the Mastering the Explorer book for Beach hunting that would give you a starting point. A word of caution though, I was hunting at the beach here in Jacksonville, with just iron mask -10 and hit a high silver signal. It turned out to a large silver ring. I had another slightly lower signal that was a silver bracelet. Both would not have registered in the "just jewelry program."

Thanks,I have been reading and reading till I am sick of reading I think I kinda got a clue what to do.I am going to take different jewlery use the learn program and then get to the site and use edit for those pull tabs...I just want the snow to melt the ground to dry out and go hunting....pretty soon I will gripping about how it is to hot to hunt and the ground is hard as concrete...and needing a cold one...lol

Rick;
You need to quit reading and start swinging that detector. You will drive yourself nuts with all the different ideas and suggestions that are out there. I know you are severly limited by the weather right now but the only way you will find what works is to get out there.
It's like I've said you are going to be learning a new language with the Explorer and the only way is it be able to listen to it you can't just read about it.
I know how frustrated you are, Spring will come <IMG SRC="/forums/images/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=":)">
