Few questions. What are the good VDI numbers for solid finds??? I know rely on sound which I do, But once I do get a solid hit I then look at the VDI reading to get and idea of what it might be, I'm running my machine at +2 on the gain and 2 on the Disc, And Thresh on 11:30, Trigger in the forward position does this sound like good settings??? Now question 2) what is a big item??? Is this something like hot rock?? Or is it a big item I have dug some of these target but I'm not finding big item how ever compared to a coin it may be bigger.

For me a big item is a full can or an item like a large hinge. Many rusty digger washers etc, can show big because of the rust halo. You have to dig deep to find them because they are always deeper than they read on the screen. If you are hunting relics I would think you would have to dig these signals. Old locks for example could show has a big item.

Relics would or could cover the whole VDI range sense there are both ferrous and non ferrous relics. I've wondered why people even bother with the icons on the screen. I could post a list of list of possible VDI numbers or you could go to Reno's site. It just seems in relic you would dig all solid signals.

The disc of 2 is around the right area. Try putting a 3" nail on the ground ( rusty one) and set the disc to just eliminate it. It will be somewhere in the 2 range. I think many people who run the trigger forward run the disc at zero. I run the 2 when I have the trigger centered.
