OK, my try at chestmounted explorer setup...

...cheap and dirty. had to do it to ease the strain on my old shoulder and back. I opted for the 'cheap' and easy method as opposed to the incredible custom setups that I have seen posted. many of the ideas were used from some of your setups. If you have any suggestions about how I can improve it please let me know. I am planning on adding a strap around my back so it doesn't swing out when I kneel to dig a plug, and all of the connections are temporary while I test it out. when satisfied I will silicone seal all connections and pieces like the battery holder and control unit.[attachment 17518 set1.jpg][attachment 17519 set2.jpg][attachment 17520 set3.jpg]

lightens the load, and really helps with seeing the display at the same time!
I liker it!

It's the best way to use the Explorer. Close to your eyes but NOT to close. Wish it was a little easier to achieve this result and not so much need to "rip" the Explorer apart. Whatever gets you out there and searching. Silicone is fine , though I think polyurathene might be better.

Maybe add a remote handle mounted PINPOINT and/or IRONMASK or what ever needs mommentary switching to a "thumb or trigger" operated switch.

Hard Nosed Dave.

to hold your control box to your chest go to a sporting goods store and ask for a binocular straps get the kind that keep them against your chest
and let them slide up so you can set controls..

But whtever you do that stock 10.5 is going to be nose heavy..Some use a smaller coil and do well with it and correcting the ergonomics a bit...

Now that's a serious mod. Looks Great:thumbup:

Don't know about the Explorer, but I use a cloth pants belt to keep my Soverign XS control close to my chest Norm
