OK Mags, Here's the puzzle. When I posted it earlier, several knew how to solve it, including you, almost.

A rancher had 19 horses and three sons. When he died, still with only 19 horses, he left the eldest son 1/2 of the horses, the second son 1/4 of the horses and the youngest son 1/5 of the horses. How could they divide them correctly according to the will without killing any horses?? Try it out and I'll give the answer later..:shrug:

The sons could not figure it out so they asked a neighbor to be an arbitrator. He rode over one day and turned his horse out to graze. They counted horses and low and behold there were 20 now. 1/2 of them or 10 went to the older brother.1/4 of them or 5 went to the second brother while the youngest got 1/5 of them or 4. The total was 10 + 5 + 4 = 19. Each of them got more than what they originally would have gotten, no horses had to die and the neighbor got on his horse and rode away.
