turned it on for the first time and saw Tesoro, then DELEON, then it went nuts. I did this over and over on my back patio, until I remembered that my Bandido couldn't set it's threshold on my back patio due to it's frequency. My Garrett's at 6.5 are much more stable, so I figured I would move out away from my patio and try again. TESORO, DELEON, a quick LIFT COIL, then DISC. No matter where the coil was, it still gave me LIFT COIL just before DISC.
Well, I swung the coil for awhile, and had a hit of 95 with the SILVER COINS segment pegged. Back and forth and the display said the same. Dug down 2" and found an old rusted hotwheels car. Hmmm. Guess I'm going to have some fun breaking this baby.
Test garden was picked up perfectly and a quick depth test got me 7" on a quarter in DISC and 9" in AM. Using the threshold in AM, I can break the threshold at closer to 11", though the display won't show a VDI number. The 10khz will pick up what little mineralization I have with a medium sweep speed.
The best thing I found in the one hour of testing it was it's ability to display trash, and it's recovery speed. Recovery is faster than anything I have used before (which isn't a lot). I pulled off the plug on the shaft at the rear of the arm cuff thinking I might be able to move the headphone jack, but not with that big freakin bolt going through it.
The depth display is right on the money and quick. I did a fan test (sweeping the coil over a known targets depth, while raising and lowering the coil) and found the depth display followed accurately and swiftly, more so than either of my Garretts that have trouble tracking depth accurately at all.
All in all, I really like it. Let's see how it does this week in the field to see if it's a keeper.
