Ok--I'M A Believer :)

Alright--It does work like everyone says.
I had it out for an hour one day last week; 3hours another day; and then an hour today.
3rd hunt nabbed a '52 dime from a FOOT down.
It was the 7th target I dug out of 7 plugs. So one out of 7 was silver. Nice ratio.

Firstly, I will say the stock coin program needs modifcation. Which I did.
Secondly, my settings needed modification--which I did.

After reading the entire Minelab book by Sabisch last night. I actually fell asleep twice while reading it-I finally got it all in my head and now understand how to use this machine.
I reprogrammed it shortly after and charged the battery pack.

The Experiment:
Took it to an old pool complex that dates to the 20's today. So I knew there would be deep silver there. And, as well an area I myself gridded hard with my detector late last Summer.
I was over the same area as I was last year and I heard it sound off. A solid 12/13-44/45 and it showed some depth, yet was actually much deeper than the icon.
After cuting the plug with my Lesche to max depth. I circled the hole with my pinpointer. Nothing.
I thought it was a false.
I then cut down into it again and pried back another 3 inches or better of soil and there it was.
Definitely a foot down. No doubt. It sounded loud and clear as well.

Wasn't too sure about the machine when I got it and took it out the first time. I promised myself I would give it to the end of August and if it didn't meet the expectation I would trade it in.
But, it didn't fail the experiment. It definitely passed.
Definitely a keeper.
Even the display is better now that I turned the Contrast down some more. I can see the screen.

Not much to show for, but I did not have alot of time.
The round object with the chain appears to be an old drain plug. I was at an old pool complex. Might have been from an old-time drain system or something related.

Andy's book makes more sense after you put some hours on the machine. The discrimination, depth, target ID and ease of use is amazing. Keep up the great work.

Sweet keep them coming !!!!!

We're lookin' forward to seeing more....but probably not as much as you are!

Thanks for the pictures.

NebTrac

Congrats on the finds. The E-Trac is a wonderful machine and very easy to use, but, takes a while to really learn it and take advantage of all the settings. I personally think that I will never completely master it, as I learn something new almost every time I go out. Good luck and HH.

For some reason, we keep saying how good it is, but people who don't use it refuse to believe. Welcome to the world of the E-trac (it's paved with silver).
