and customer service. Had this on the Water beach forum and SF Black said to move it here. Second time in a year I've sent the Excal back to Las Vegas for the same symptom. Sent it out on 6/29 and on 07/03 it is in Sparks Nevada. Going UPS. Mr. Black does not want anny 'detector bashing.' I guess if something ain't right about the performance and service related to a detector, I kind of think it's telling the truth. If that's too painful or personal for a manufacturer they ought to make changes. The least we can do is let our fellow detectorists learn from our experiences. We ain't lying. I'd like nothing more than to be using my Excalibur right now rather than typing about it. Jim

I did not think it was bashing. Not sure what was up with that guess I will have to follow it here, as I just bought a used Excal 1000.

This is the correct forum to put such post. What to do in the future, is to make a post on the selected forum with a link directing viewers to this forum, where you post the complete story.

Post like this one tend to cause a lot of trouble, and nasty post on the forum. Never mind the damage you do to all the Innocent dealers. The Beach Forum is just that, keep it on focus. You made your point there, your post is still standing for all to read, now it's time to move on.

Followed the tracking. It took 6 days, UPS, from Washington State to Las Vegas. ML got it on the 30th of June. It's July 5th and the clock is ticking.

Any updates to the Minelab repair situation?

I sent my Sovereign in by UPS on the 25th June, arrived at Minelab in Las Vegas on 1st July.

So far, no contact from them by phone or e-mail regarding my list of concerns/requests.

This is the first time I've dealt with the Minelab Service facility, so I'm on a learning curve.

Has anyone else used the Service/Repair in Las Vegas, what were the results?

Regards,

Update: I just got off the phone an hour ago with Ron Johnson at Minelab Repair in Las vegas.

My Sovereign is out of repair, (minor stuff, reasonable cost) and in Minelab's shipping dept.
It might be on it's way here today, at the latest by Monday.

Minelab had the machine since July 1st, this seems like a very reasonable turn-around time.

So I'm satisfied with the response, communication, and the cost.

Anyone that's interested can quote me.

Have had mixed dealings with Minelab repair and try to take care of things in the off season. The cost of sending things in is a real deal one would think that Minelab must have some postage deal in place that could be of help to the guy's needing to send stuff in. Dan
