I found these rings the other day. They are about the diameter of a penny and are way to wide to be jewelry at that diameter. They are coated with something and marked sterling. I assume they may be napkin rings, but they seem to be way to small. I found them in a yard about 6 inches apart and not in an area where you would have a picnic.

Silver cleaner does not remove the coat. It is also peeling.

They could be sterling that was coated w/ clear?

I've seen some very wide rings just as very narrow/fine rings. sometimes it it really is the most common guess. My guess is you scored a pair of rings. Are they the same size? if they were the same size then that would be a curveball to the ring guess. but not impossible. silver, unless a good fake. I see in the pic the end of the word sterling.

if you want to clean them you might try some 0000 steel wool then buff to a high gloss, look like a nice mens ring to me???

The rings are identical size and width. Both are smaller than a penny and almost 1/2 inch wide. They were found at about 5 inches with a silver '64 quarter at the same'ish depth not far away.
