OK folks, What'a you say we give the political post a rest for a while, I'm getting tired of seeing them all the time and ..........

in replies to others post that have nothing to do with politics, it's over kill and we really do need to give it a rest for a while, this place is starting to take the shape of a views forum and I'm not gonna let that happen.

Every once in a while isn't bad but every other post is a little over whelming I think, so what'a say we just take a break for a while, thanks

If that's what the family wants to talk about why shouldn't it be allowed? I understand that some people may not be interested ( and they MAY be the uninformed and that's how Obama got elected in the first place) but those of us that like to point and counter-point shouldn't be "quieted" just because. Usually, if a topic is uninteresting, little is made of it and it quietly slips down the forum onto another page but if a topic hits the button in most of us, this makes great reading and some really good information has been brought to our attention. I know that there were several great replies made lately and I learned some things because of it. Some of these guys are real wordsmiths and I really appreciate their effort. I thought that this particular forum was originated for people like us to talk about anything that comes to mind because we weren't talking about detecting that much in the first place. There are plenty of other forums to visit if all you want to discuss is metal detecting but only one place is like this. So, that being said, I would like to ask you not to restrict our conversations but let the topics themselves decide if they are "Friends and Finds Forum" worthy.

can't talk politics, I'm asking this forum to use common sense and tone it down a bit, after all, politics isn't the only thing talked about at my dinner table. This forum was set up based on Metal Detecting and friendship first, politics never was or had anything to do with this forum, that's why the Guvner has the views forum.

Yes the subject of the day turns to politics every now and then and that's ok but when it starts to rule this forum and it's format then things need to change, we have lost enough members because of politics. All I am asking is the members of this forum to use common sense and don't let politics destroy a great forum and friendships.

I have met at least 20 different members on this forum, eat at their dinner tables, hunted with them, slept in their homes and never once talked politics, talking politics won't be ban from this forum because that's what is on peoples minds today as things get tougher for everybody, all I am asking is use common sense and maybe just give it a short break for now, get refreshed and talk about others things like Butch buying a iMac some day

You folks want to talk about politics that's fine with me but use common sense and don't make it personal, some times some things are better left alone or at least in this case given a short break
