Again, very slim but I managed my keeper for the day. This coin had a very nice green patina but since the detail was so stong I decided to clean it. I'm still not sure about my choice but after a few weeks in olive oil to remove the last bit of green I think it will look pretty good. These must have had a silver content because it's coming through on the date side. All in all it wasn't a bad day to dig. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

I have had one of those in my coin collection for years and have no idea where I got it. It would have been more fun if I had dug mine, but I'm happy to have mine just the same. Congratulations.

I'm hearing more and more about this cleaning tip with olive oil .......Gonna havta give it a try.

Its a Danish coin. The text is "1 skilling Danske KM" KM stands for "koppar mynt" which means kopparcoin Skilling was the denomination back in those days.
