OK, Craig was very kind in his post about our adventure yesterday. What he did not say was...

that I was the only person who did not find at least a couple of silver coins!! In fact, I did not find a single silver coin. I found 6 wheat pennies and 2 memorial pennies, one clad dime and one clad quarter (1965, missed it by one year!!!!). I found a US lapel or shoulder button and a fly button. I also found a mortar simulator (I think)!! Here are the pics, sorry about the poor quality!

I could not stand the thought that everybody I hunted with yesterday found silver, but not me!! So I decided to return today after Church since I knew James was going to be out there again. I met up with James and he already had found 5 silver coins and a bunch of wheaties!!! We decided to hunt an area adjacent to the area we were in yesterday. We began finding wheaties right away (ok the truth is James had found 3 wheaties before I got in the woods good!!!) Then Mr. Silver Magnet struck...James found a Mercury dime!! We knew we were in a good area for sure. To make a long story not quite as long, I finally found silver!!!! A 1943 Merc in great shape!!! I also found an even dozen wheaties!! I also found a stripper magazine loader, and what looks like part of a magazine plus a pack hook and buckle!! By the way The Silver Magnet found 5 more silver coins for a total of 10 for today!!! I feel pretty sure he will post about the weekend, too!! I will wait for his post to see exactly how he tells his view of today!! I will say now that I am a witness to what happened!!

I want to give a big "Thanks" to Craig for giving me the heads-up on using Tone-ID. I had never used it before today...it made a huge difference!! Also, a big "Thanks" to James, too, for sharing the area with me!!

The military paraphernalia I found today!

By the way the wheaties I found yesterday were: 1940 (2), 1944 (3) and 1952. Wheaties found today were: 1936, 1942, 9144, 1945 (5), 1956 (2)(These 2 are the same age as me, I was born in 1956!), 1958 and one that was unreadable!!

Thanks for looking at both of my posts, and happy hunting to everyone!!
