I have an hour to kill after work before a horseshoe tournament & the tide is supposed to be pretty low, so I think I'm gonna give my parents privite beach a try finally. You know....dig some pull tabs & see what happens....
Hopefully, I'll have a ring or something worth posting but probably not :sadwalk:

I only had less than an hour to "sample" this beach area....but boy it looked damn inviting at low tide. I really have no clue how to "read" a beach, but I saw alotta pebbles where the tide was going out. Unfortunately tide was not at it's lowest yet because lookin in the water I saw like a drop off trench the waves were pulling at. That's probably the hot zone. Anyhow, at least I began "cleaning up" the area ;) I dug the usual tabs, lotsa lead sinkers, cans, etc...no coins yet which seemed strange. While digging, an old marble came up which I thought was a good sign. I imagined kids playing back in the beaches heyday, so I'll keep at it....

Irene is coming! We are supposed to leave for the Beach Saturday for a week. The forecast is for Irene to be off the Carolina Coast on Tuesday. Maybe the beach will get cut up  If it comes up your way maybe it will stir things up a bit. Just my luck.....I head for the coast at the same time as a Hurricane!
