This past weekend on a freshwater beach found a bunch of these with the Excel. So think boats and docks maybe. They are square shanked, made of hard copper, one end appears formed by casting or stamping, and the other ends appear like a rivet end. Looks like the rivet parts have been flattened, or peaned over the ends.
And yes I know, but I couldn't resist the pictures of the snapper in the parking lot at work today. Had to push it out from under the car with a 2x6, so a young lady could go home. When you hit one of these, you tend to notice it a little more than the usual ka-thump, ka-thump squirrel sound.
All I could think of was Godzilrraa, should have rushed home and got the boy's little plastic army men, could have filmed a classic right there in the parking lot.
Notice the bits of brownie I tried to use, to entice it out from underneath the car. Obviously this turtle is not a chocolate lover, go figure. <img src="/metal/html/tongue.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":b">
