Ok, a little bit of fun, hopefully. Can anyone guess where I took this shot?

Red Rock Canyon in Nevada?

This picture just doesn't look real to me. And let me say Dave that you have amazing photography skills and abilities. Looks like Petrified wood more than an actual mountain range. The man in the corner just looks out of place. Like it was added after....my guess is that I am looking at a Macro shot of Petrified wood from the Petrified Forest National Park

I think you are on to something Jim and we know Dave is good at that stuff....:poke: The rock the guy is sitting on looks thousands of miles out of place

Are the mountains some sort of wooden walkway.......the sky looks more like the ocean to me.

You've got me Dave! Only thing I can think of with type of grain is a piece of broken wood.

Most people I've shown get fooled but you guys caught me. It's a stump out in the back yard that someone was painting their picnic bench on and made it that color, but then for the sky it's just the surface of the stump but I colored it bluish. I got the idea because when I took a closeup of it, it looked like the badlands or something to me. I was hoping that the guy would look like he was on the foreground at some sort of lookout area. Very observant guys....I guess I didn't have you 'stumped' :)

Man! You are good! :surprised: Do you have any more we can guess at? That was Fun! Really makes a person think about interesting places.....my mind wandered all the way from the Kalihari to the Outback!:clapping:
Mud

That's cool Dave! But honestly, the man didn't have anything to do with my decision. I was staring at the grain of the peaks.

Sounds like a great idea.As others (me included) do not possess Dave's technical skills in creating images, maybe they could blow a small part of an image up to see if others can guess what it is.Good idea for a bit of lighthearted fun Dave.

infringe on the Story Forum and Whatzit Forum. Like I said, I think that you have come up with a great "fun" idea for our photo forum, and I sure would appreciate hearing from other how to best implement it into our forum. Do we make it a weekly event? Or post it at will? How about it folks, this is your forum, please give us some ideas. Kelley (Texas) :)
