FOR THE GOOD OLD DAYS : Of all the tesoros you have had which one would you pick to be your favorite detector:jump:

Vaquero!

Hi Bill,

...I would have to say my favorite is the Toltec 100 that I bought from you years ago.

I put the Troy S9 coil on it and had it tuned by Rusty, it is my deepest and most accurate detector that I own.

Today Tejon. I had a Toltec 100 that was so smooth. You could go super slow and listen for those soft hits. I wish I still had it.

Eldorado U-max. Was my favorite Tesoro and still have her.
Have had a few Tesoros but down to 2. Also have a Tejon
with 3 coils. Still learning this Tejon as it has a language
I need to get figured out. Maybe 30 hours on her. I really
like my Tesoros but are not my go to units. I swing them
when I want to change it up now and then. Still good
detectors though as my Eldo. has made some very nice
finds.

Bandido II MicroMax! Runs super smooth in iron and the No-Motion All Metal pinpoint is awesome! I'll be hanging onto this one for a while.
:tesoro:

It would have to be the Legendary Laser B1 and B3 and then the SilverSabre11 all these machines are some of the best detectors ever for trashy roman and saxon sites, the discrimination is un-beatable.All though these Tesoro made machines are superb at what they do,they certainly are not in the same league as say my T2 which is my everyday machine.

I have many Tesoros. I think my best one is the Compadre when they first came out with it. I still use it the most. Than would be the Silver uMax... KEN

A few years back I found a real clean original Bandido that works really well for me in the WW1 Training Camp dump I sometimes hunt. I keep it rear-mounted on a Tiger Shark pole and it balances out perfectly with the coil for a lighter feel overall. It has the modulated audio which helps me in sizing up my target and or estimating depth.... plus I really like the All-Metal/Retune spring loaded toggle switch for additional information about target if needed but usually by then I'm digging the target. Ha!

I have owned/used most of the current production models from Tesoro and my favorite is the Eldorado Umax.

Golden Sabre II.... still own it after 23+yrs. Talk about a coin shootin sob! Only problem is nowdays the OLD coins on public ground are mostly out of it's depth range. The notch can be a beautiful thing also......

My favorite tesoro machine was the bandito ll umax until the outlaw came out. The medium tone of the outlaw and the features of the bandito series wins it for me. I have tried the vaquero (which I still really like), Deleon, tejon, cibola, silver, compadre, eldorado, amigo ll and the golden umax.

I have only tried a few but love the Eldorado Umax. I would like to try a Bandito II someday though!

Must admit after reading this thread again i am planning on using my Laser B3 again during the summer, this time rather than use the 8'' polo i will be using the 10'' polo coil for the extra depth on a few of my roman sites, still one of the all time classic machines, folks who do own them wont part with them,so when they do come up for sale they command a premium price infact bordering on crazy prices.

Some of the older Tesoro machines can still give alot of the modern day detectors a run for the money, its all about that magic discimination that only Tesoro seem to perfect.

Well after giving my 2 old Tesoro machines a few outing on various sites i am afraid i have just put them bacvk into the garage to gather dust again, both my machines are like they have just come out the factory and in mint condition. They work exactly as they should do but when compaired with my other machines they are sub standard in most departments aprt from the discrimination side of them.

Must admit i could not get back to using my regular non Tesoro brand machines with screens etc, they may be good reliable work horses but i am afraid they are just not for me,i wont part with them but may bring them out on the odd site to bring back some nostalga and nothing else. What ever way i try and have spend many years trying to kid myself i will like them one day but as yet its not happened.

Of course these are just my personal opinions on these machines that i actually own and not aimed at any one specific but just my observation from a users prospective and they are not for me.

O sold my Eldo a number of years ago, should have kept it.
T recently picked up the closest Tesoro to it the Euro Sabre.

Bandido II regular non Umax version it's a keeper, you know there's roundness in the hole before you dig it with the tone it gives.
