OK...2 tone ferrous for gold rings?

Alright...I have read and tried 2 tone ferrous myself but have not done well so far while looking for rings. This area is littered with iron all up and down in the matrix, lots of black sand mixed in and I am using a 10x12 SEF. I have been getting pretty bored in this spot and need some new insight into what might help me out. There are brass targets, coins and rings but they are dang deep.
I would appreciate any ideas that you may have that I might be able to try before giving up on a favorite hunting spot.

What do ya have to say about that?
thanks

If, if, if there's rings in that area, then 2 tone Ferrous should find them. 2 tone ferr would give the same high tone on rings that it would give on coins, or all conductive targets. Dig anything that gives a repeatable high tone, whether it be loud or faint.

Good luck!

Thats really the beauty of 2 tone Ferrous .....Anything running 17-35 ferrous is probably going to be iron on just about ANY beach .....You will probably hear a lot of it to the point of being bored as on a typical program , these ferrous numbers are being nulled as they are blacked out ....The E Trac will still hear thru the null , but it's not as clear as hearing the low tones along with the high tones close together as you would hear running 2 Tone Ferrous .... After running multiple tone , it IS going to be boring ..... What's nice is the fact that you really only have to look down at the meter if you are hearing a high tone !!...You don't have to continue to wonder what you're hearing in multi tone mode .... It narrows your search down so to speak , but can be boring on beaches that don't have much other than iron .....No good targets , no high tone !!....... Jim

Were usually talking a wide open screen when running ferrous, and gold rings will probably come in on the ferrous side
at 11 or12.

Ok Thanks y'all,
I have not been running the screen wide open but have basically the top half open as it is now. I will try the wide open screen. There are definitely rings to be found in this spot and I have found some of them with this machine and other explorers but I have about hunted it to death. But because I know how deep most targets still lurk and that the targets may only hit from one direction and that I have been over and over this spot sooooooo many times and still get surprises by just adjusting or trying different things SO I have not yet given up.

I will try an open screen next,
thanks tons for sharin your advice.

good luck,

Yeah,

You need to be in All metal (no discrimination) to get the full benefits of 2 tone Ferrous. You don't want the machine to null whatsoever on iron. Just low tone or high tone.....FAST Recovery!!!

Good luck!
