Oh Yeah,I was Feeling the Love...

Till I got home:cry:
Out on the beach at 6PM, low tide at 9:30, wind blowing at 20 knots, and big surf hammering the beach. Lots of coin to be had on the beach, did not even try the water. Put in 3 hours digging mostly Pennies and dimes with quarters and nickels showing up in the scoop once in a while during the 3.5 hours I was out.
First ring was the love ring that I thought for sure was silver.. Much later and in the dark came the Bling ring that ( keep in mind my eyes don't work up close, and I try not to get too happy about a find till I get home and check it out) had me thinking, this could it be a nice one! It looked OK,..... from what I could see and felt like it had some weight, so I left the beach and headed home feeling pretty good. A rinse of everything under the hose, some bright light and glasses proved otherwise, I didn't even notice the copper color or bent prong till later...junk x 2:stars: GL ALL

Was an interesting evening to hunt, the winds were stiff but around 4pm they were stronger then the pretty steady 20 knots later on....
My lone silver toe ring yesterday turned out to be crap too..... different beach but the same results!

Good luck next time!

Cliff

Thanks Cliff.....Scouted around a bit after lunch today and noticed some nice eroded areas where the waves took lots of sand off the beach, giving it another shot tonight after dinner, but with the DF this time.

Temporary love is better than no love at all. :detecting:

I think most of us have been there and done that! As much as I want to smile from ear to ear and go back to my truck to get the loupe out.....I've learned to temper my enthusiasm, hopes etc; and continue detecting savoring the thoughts of could it be14K 18K or even PLAT + diamonds but all the time, have that niggly feeling in my gut that it might not be what I think it is. You all know the feeling right!! I drop whatever it is in the pouch and continue on detecting and later back at the parking lot, either jump up on cloud 9 or drown my sorrows and dissapointments over a drink!! lol

Nice finds! A least is was a temporary smile.
