Oh my...this is one HOT little critter. The hottest I've ever owned.:clapping:

Hotcz70

New member
As many of you know I have been looking to add another cz to my stable. Problem was that I needed the "perfect" cz since I have owned many over the years. We all know that all cz's are not created equal. Some are hotter than others while some are more stable than others.

We all would be happy with one that was hot...or maybe some would be happy with one that was stable

I needed one that was BOTH hot AND stable...which would be a rare find. I have had a hot cz70pro before...so nothing less would satisfy me.

I picked up this baby from a feller' I have dealt with many times over the years and I trust him...very good guy. It looks better than the one I bought new in the box about 6 years ago....and it is HOT and STABLE.:)

Anyway I took it for a little spin today. Only an hour or so...but what a pleasure to be swingin' one again.

I only dug 4 targets in the hour. The first 2 were rusty nails from 10"+:smoke:. The third was a dead on nickel hit from 8"+.that WAS a nickel.

The fourth was this little beauty of a sterling silver ring from 10"...

I couldn't locate it with the probe...so I had to get out my explorer to use the probe on it. I get a solid 3"+ depth with the sunray probe on it...but with the sunray probe on the CZ...I got 1"...seriously. I remember that from my other cz70pro too though. I got no depth with the probe on it either.
I filled the hole in once because I couldn't get a peep with the probe...but ran the coil over it again and it hammered it. I then redug the hole...and used the probe on my explorer SE and it sang.

I was lucky to have had one of the hot ones before...but this one is the hottest cz I've ever had with the sensitivity at 6 and the stock 8" coil.

When I jacked the sensitivity to 8...or even 10 over the little silver ring before I dug it......:yikes: :surprised:...it hammered it with the coil 2" off the ground:thumbup:

My buddy Hercules enjoyed the 60 degree temps too:)

I am a very happy camper. I can't wait to go to some of my sites and dig some nickel hits that I pass on with my Explorers. I like the cz because it brings the nickel hits up into the high coin range.:beers:

Can't wait to strap on that 12" Sunray FZ-12 coil and head to China.:clapping:

Thats a heck of a Pro setup you have. Herc looks good ! Love my ETrac but would give my eye to have the 70 pro setup you have !

very cool to here you got a good one!
chuck.

Seriously Bryce glad you found what you were looking for and those that wait are rewarded...was a pleasure to try to help in your quest. Not a fan of the on detector pinpointers using a CZ since 92 can pinpoint with my eyes closed but do say Sunray makes a fine product whether it be the FZ pinpointer or their FZ12 inch coil..Make sure you keep foil notched in as thats where those thin womans rings with nice stones are had. In addendum was a pleasure to speak to you via phone for an hour or so and perhaps we both learned a trick or two..Looking forward to seeing your nice finds and can't wait to pull a 10-12 inch silver dime when the weather breaks in a month or so.

Bryce,

With the CZ model that we tested the FZ-1 on we found that the probe depth was much better if you cranked up the sensitivity setting (of course still maintaining stabiltiy with the setting) while in probe mode - and then returning it to your previous setting when switching back to coil mode (as mentioned in the FZ-1 instructions). Hope this helps.

Just do us all a favor and stick it out here in the USA instead of bolting to China !! HA ! If you happen to get to the other side, let us know how it is. Just be careful when you get close to the Earths core. I know the CZ's are built like a tank, but not sure what temperature they can handle.

....X-1/explorer. I notice the same thing on my xl probe/whites xlt combination as well. Still would not hunt without the Sunray probes on any of my machines though. I get at least double the depth on the x-1/explorer combo as I do on the cz or xlt no matter what my sensitivity os set at. Again though...I still find the probes invaluable on all my machines.

Congrats Bryce that's a cool ring! Makes me want to get my 70Pro out of the arsenal but we are getting pounded by another snow storm so have to wait a little while yet.
HH! Aaron
