Oh My!! :clapping:

I went back to my BIL's yard(built in the 1890's) where I found a bunch of wheat pennies, new pennies and a few nickels with my other detectors. I didnt think that I would find much as I have searched and searched this yard with some good machines. Boy was I wrong!! The yard is rather trashy so I thought this would be another good test for the pro coil. I took a forum member's(Jeff and Maria) advice and used the stock coin program just to see if any good signals would break through the nulls. Let's just say I was thoroughly impressed.

I found:
I have a mark on my digger that is 10 inches to gauge depth

4 wheat pennies- no date, 1910, 1944 and 1945- approx. 6" to 8" deep
4 Rosy dimes- 57, 61 and 62- approx. 6",6", and 8" deep
1 Mercury dime- 1944- approx. 8-9" deep
1 Indian head penny- 1906 approx. 9" deep
1 aluminum whatsit- just included this to show how easy it is to miss something, this was 2 inches deep amidst some nails
4 Lincoln pennies

I am just tickled pink with the way that the Etrac just picks its way thru the trash, and using a large coil to boot. Pinpointing was dead on and all signals broke thru clear as a bell. I am so used to hunting in all-metal that I didnt know what to think about all of the peace and quiet that programs bring. Thanks Jeff!

I cant wait to get back out:biggrin:

Another Believer!

Deep silver has no place to hide now.

Good Job!

Now this post is getting me fired up.

My E-Trac is coming in 4 days & the weather is just starting to get better here & there. You have me really looking forward to re-hitting sites that I have been to with my SE, congrats & keep hunting...

I was just using the Minelab coin program that is on the machine. I didnt change a thing as far as settings go. I had the Minelab 8" coil on at first but quickly changed to the pro coil. It is hard for me to remember the numbers, I just remember that numbers signifying a good target on the SE is more than likely junk on the Etrac. If I remember right, the good targets were around 12-40 or thereabouts. I have got to get used to the numbers but I was mainly going by sound today.

Nice finds, i'm going to start watching my back trail alittle better especially when there's a e-trac in the woods.

I too just use the factory coin pattern with auto sensitivity (never believed in it with Explorer) and put it up to a +3 with the difficult ground on and trash on and been very impressed at what I am finding in place that been hit hard over the years. Never likes the conductivity on the Explorers and run in ferrous tones, but with the E-Trac the conductivity works great. Seems like I am running the E Trac almost opposite I did the Explorer and doing much better in trash.
Good luck when yours shows up as i feel it is a very good detector Minelab has come out with, Really like mine.
