Officer Sword Belt Buckle

Guys I've got a question for you,I'm sure someone of you can answer.....the buckles shown most every where on the net with the eagle E Pluribus Unum has the end loop for a belt, what about the type that is just like that without the loop on the end ....Is this Confederate no other markings.....thanks for any info......hh.....God Bless..........Dan
PS it has the loop on the back of the buckle

I broke the back loop off when digging as I was new to the f75 ltd and didn't have it pin pointed right .....it was 8- 10 inches deep.......thanks for info......Dan
