[size=large]Been a difficult week... but up-lifting in a way so i thought I would share it with you.

This all started about 3 weeks ago we had a lot of tornado's run through this area.
One of the guys I work with had a tornado hit his property. We hadn't heard much from him but one of the crew had been calling to see if he needed help but he told us they were fine and not to come out..... Just like many of us guys he didn't want to accept help.
****
When we got to work on Monday morning we were told that he had a massive heart attack on Saturday night and died. We were in shock.... He was a great guy and will be missed.
Thursday the whole crew went to his funeral which was nice .... but difficult just the same.
****
After the funeral we went out to his house to see what the condition was.
When he built the house his family lived in a 40 foot single wide mobile home that sat very close to the new house. Heck.. it couldn't have been more than 50 feet away.
He was planning to remove it because they've been living in the new house for some time.
By some miracle the tornado just missed the new house but totally destroyed the mobile home, some out-buidings and a lot of very large trees on the property. Compounding the situation it rained when the tornado hit but the temperatures have been in the low teens since so everything is frozen in place.
The devastation was unbelievable and the place was totally trashed... insulation and sheet metal hanging from the top of trees.... 80+ foot tall oak trees uprooted and thrown everywhere....... some pieces of the out-buildings and the mobile home were found nearly 1/2 mile away. This was my first up-close look at what a tornado can do and I've never seen anything like it in my life.
Realizing that his wife was left with a terrible mess the entire crew went back on Friday morning and worked all day, and by the time we left we had made a huge difference in the property. All the trees had been cut to firewood and all the debris had been collected and separated into burn, recycle, and dumpster.
****
While nothing can make up for the loss of our friend, for at least short time we made a real difference for his family
....... and I must say I am proud to work with, and know these people.

Stay safe !!
