What size file must I use to get it to show up in the message without having to click on the URL?

If your talking about a photo simply use photobucket or something like it.

Must you use an outsource? The way I read it you don't have too but you must stay under a certain size.

I had troubles a week ago, then all of the sudden they just started working again

Most are being solved as they show up and everything should be running smooth soon.The new server has also increased the speed of the forum a lot as intended .
