Off Topic: marbles found while detecting

utmike

Well-known member
I never paid much attention to the marbles found on scraped sites until a friend showed me some of the prices certain collectible marbles can fetch on eBay. Has anyone come across a good resource for determining what brand or style a marble is?

I know there were several manufacturers such as Akro Agate, Peltier, Christensen, Bennington, etc... differences between hand made, machine made and styles such as slags, swirls, latticino. I don't have the first clue how to look at a marble and know who made it.

Anyone?
