Off topic: Dental gold question.

I was given a little over 100 grams of dental gold to scrap for a friend. His wife used to work in a dental office and the dentist would give her these items as a bonus from time to time. There are teeth and false teeth in some of the pieces. Has anybody ever scrapped dental gold? Did you clean it before you did? Some of the pieces are solid gold. Some are very small amounts of gold on some other material. Any advice appreciated.

I have tested 10 pieces from this lot and 7 were 18k and 3 were 14k. I would say your information confirms this. I know they also contain silver and sometimes palladium. Thanks. I gotta figure out how to clean it up a little.....or a lot.

On this metal calculator there is a box that says dental gold is 10K. Try it out for yourself.
