I took yesterday (monday) off.
I have 11 weeks left to work, and 11 vacation days left to use up.
Coincidence?? Oh sure.
Like they say, 24 hours in a day, 24 cans in a case of beer??? Coincidence??
Anyhow, I ache from diving yesterday, and have to drag myself in to work again today. Put in the overtime to pay for the Sovereign Elite that is on the road to me as we speak.
I was going to buy a Whites PI pro. But this deal came along, too sweet to pass up. A brand new Sovereign Elite shipped to me for 485.00.
Whats a guy to do? ( I'll get the PI Pro next)
It helps when guys post pictures of all their detectors lined up as Coastwise did, thanks Coastwise. I pointed out to the wife how "deprived" I am.
Her typical wifey remark, "don't start with me"
Yes dear.
Anyhow, I will have to tell the boss to put me in for another vacation day next monday, (sigh).:)

glad u enjoyed the picture, can u imagine what i was called as i loaded them first (hehehe)
Just tell ur wife that ur taking her up on her suggestion of u needing more exercise and swinging a coil in waist deep water is fantastic low impact exercise, n that is what all retirees need, congrads on ur retirement i took that plunge in 99 n haven't looked back!

we are just like this truck, oldie but a goodie!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you will love the Elite...I sure did. The only reason I got rid of it was to get the "waterproof version"...the Excal. I did do a good deal of land hunting with it as well though, and did quite well with it. Great machine.

Hey Mike, How you doing? Can you give me your opinion on the Sovereign Elite, as compared to say one of the CZ Models for dirt hunting? I'm kind of toying with the idea of trying a New Sovereign, either a GT or Elite. I know you have two Minelabs now, Excal and I don't remember the other. But, how would you compare the Elite to your other Minelab?
Also, I tried to send you a posted response yesterday, but my computer time expired at the public library, just as I was about finished. For record, I finally got some GOLD, one 10kt. Yellow Gold HEART w/ 19 genuine DIAMOND CHIPS in it. Second, my first gold wedding band, 9kt. English Yellow Gold, it is an antique, slightly over 100 yrs. old, but still only worth $7.50 (gold content). I also got a couple of silver rings. I went ot Ocean City, Md. last night for some low tide Night Hunting. I fought the Rain/Tough Currents/Numerous Trenches, but did LOUSY!! Only benefit, I filled my gasoline tank at $2.60 a gal. I've never done any good at that beach, and I think that will be my final trip 40miles one way. Oh by the way, CONGRATULATIONS on your ANNIVERSARY!! HH,

Man, that's excellent...about the heart and ring. Nice going! Sorry your beach outing was a bust. Sometimes you hit it at the right time and sometimes you don't. That's a good little trek to take to get rained on and come back empty-handed.

The Sovereign Elite is a great machine, in the dirt, the woods, the beach...I did real well with mine at all 3 places. I also have the CZ-70 as you know, and the Explorer II and Excal. I think the Elite or the GT with it's multiple tones has that going for it over the CZ but the CZ is equal to it in depth and is certainly rugged and simple to use. I give the Sovereigns the nod at the beach, CZ slight advantage on land. I haven't used the GT, but it's an enhanced Elite from the sound of it and I'm sure an improvement in a few ways, operationally and ergonomically. You will NEVER go wrong with either Sovereign and I got my Elite as a BACKUP to my CZ and all of a sudden I'm a Minelab guy, with my CZ as the backup. If that tells you anything! :) It certainly is another world and I said before and I will maintain, the Elite made detecting more FUN for me than with the CZ. Not to take away anything from the CZ, but the threshold and the wide variance of the tones makes you really get in tune with your detector and makes the machine very versatile. You have a better idea of what you're listening to, with experience, in my opinion. That said, I will NEVER get rid of my CZ-70...too great of a machine, lifetime warranty...and the dog definitely hunts.

Any other questions, ask away.
