Hi guys

Have tried to squeeze in several water hunts in the last week. Tides have been 5am / 5pm lows or similar. So three days in a row! Have had pretty decent success and will post pics soon...but the best find so far (2015 5 gold, 5 silver, 2 junk).

The best find....went for a evening hunt in the surf. Walking along with a mate about 3 metres away. Very limited targets for the first 30 minutes. Then I came across a erroded spot on the beach. The sand was thinner and you could feel the depressions with your feet ;) always a great sign!

Suddenly a solid signal...one decent scoop into the sand and clay. 18 ct....multiple diamonds. ...awesome ring. Looks fairly old and was in the water for some time protected by the clay.

diamonds etc all look to be in perfect condition. I have no idea how to size them...but there are 11?

Just a helpful FYI, carat is a measure of weight for gems and Karat is a measure of purity for gold. There is a lot of confusion that carat is a size measure and weight and size somewhat correlate, but it is really the weight of the gems (usually diamonds) that is being given. Most know that 24 Karat is pure gold and 12 Karat is an even 50/50 mix of gold and other metals combined for strength and color purposes mainly.
Oh, also in nature, nothing can damage a diamond, except another diamond so a cut stone will never lose its 'newness'. That is why the statement, "diamonds are forever" is so true.

OUTSTANDING!
Very few stones have 8 facets holding them.
By no means am I very talented in determining a diamond's size but I would stab a guess at:
2C for center stone
1C for each stone on either side of the center stone and
.25C for each of the other 8 diamonds.

If they are not as above, no smaller than 1/2 the size i.e. 1C, .5C and .125C. It is hard to tell from a photo with no ref. size.

If you have it checked out, let us know...
The style of the ring appears like it may be one of a kind.
Very nice quality to my eye, however I have been fooled before.
Believe it or not I have found more CZs than diamonds mounted in 18K gold. Go figure.
