Hello all,
New to the forum. Glad to be part of the MD community. I'm just getting back into the hobby after a very long lay-off. I've been detecting since I was a kid. In fact, my Mom sent me a photo of a 10 year old me with my first detector which, by my calculations, is just about 35 years ago! I'm definitely going to buy a Tesoro and most probably the Golden uMax as I will mostly be coinshooting. My question is: What does the funny looking backwards "u" stand for in the Silver and Gold uMax name?

Yeah - look at the control housing size compared to some detectors of the past. It is like "Micro" in size comparison. And the weight factor too can be a nice plus. You can swing Tesoro's all day long. I've had detectors where I thought my arm was going to fall off by a half day outing.

The last time I swung a detector it was a "lunchbox" style White's Coinmaster! I can't wait to get back out with a modern machine!
