Off the subject, when not water hunting

Grubstake

Member
I am mainly a gold nugget hunter, but I also water hunt. I have found many thousands of dollars worth of diamonds, rubies, emeralds and gold and silver rings and even gold coins. But heres some pictures of what I love best. All my detectors are minelabs, these were found with a 2200sd and I also have a soverine and an excallibur. Heres some pictures of what I got last SAt. an oz and a quarter of nuggets. Grubstake

Thanks, nuggethunting is very good to me. Of course my wife like all the jewlery I find, but I like nuggets. Each is different, and untouched for millions of years. Grubstake

Hi, Love the sight of real gold. You must of found some patch. One of these years I would love to try nugget hunting but for now I go to the ocean beaches. What state do you hail from? Hope you find more Nuggets. Good Luck! Walter

I live in Mariposa Ca. just out side of Yosemite National park, but I hunt gold here mostly, thats where these came from, but U do go to AZ. and NV. for nuggethunting also. In the winter when the beaches get good, I go to my uncles house in Monterey CA. and hunt the beach with him. I also hunt the freshwater lakes uphere in the summer time, I have 7 lakes within a hundred miles of me. I have live up here since the late 80's and have lots of private property that I have access to. Its a great place for this hobbie. Take care Grubstake

Gold isalways good, no matter in rings, or in nuggets, nuggets are muchharder to detect, anyone can buy a cheap detector and go to a park or beach and find coins or a gold or silver ring once in awhile. But to detect gold it requires research and a lot of patience's. You must dig it all if it makes your detector sound off, I have dug a few hundred pounds of trash, nails, lead bullits and such. But it can and does pay off if you stick with it. Take care all thanks for the reply's Grubstake

you are very right about that grubstake. gold is always good . either gold rings or nuggets, coins, relic's and all the lost bits and piece's of this great country.
i believe every detectorist has his or hers own passions as far as what they want out of this hobby and not everyone of us live in the gold or the CW relic or first settled regions of this country but we all do our best to research and develop an eye for looking into the past and where no others have hunted.
most people i know have invested alot of money into this great hobby. i for one have a few thousand wrapped up into it but the point im making is that drive inside of us, again the word passion thats always in the back of our minds, that catches our eye when driving down a road and passing an old home, mountain range, battle field or whatever site and wondering what might be lost and found .i think we all want to stumble across that sunken spanish treasure ship and be happy for the rest of our lifes lol which may or may not happen , who knows, but again my point is we're all driven in that same direction that makes us little different from most.
ive got to say i love this hobby and what a great country we live in.

Beautiful Grubstake! Some day i will have the oppt. to do your kind of hunting. Always wanted to nugget hunt...not too good here in PA though.

Gotta love GOLD! You are one lucky man to have access to it! Sweet finds indeed!

Thanks Brent, yes you are right, gold nuggets are hard to come by, you have got to learn your detector, like it was part of you, and know the areas the old times hit it in. Thats where reasearch pays off. Grubstake

Thank you Bonnie, My wife has some really nice top end jewlery, that she likes, my trusty soverine and excallibur have found. Grubstake
